Pat Carson - Owner/Manager

Downfield Business Services’ principal is Pat Carson who has extensive and recent experience in the small business financial field. In this capacity, in recent times, Pat has provided services to various trades and professions including Computer Repairs & Maintenance, Estate Agency, Property Management & Maintenance, Hairdressing, Out of School provision, Poster Print & Distribution, Professional Theatre Management, Small Independent Charities and individuals with Social Care Needs.
In prior years, Pat was the Finance Officer of an organisation in the Voluntary sector with responsibility for the development and maintenance of financial reporting for funding and which included the development of a payroll bureau offering a fully-managed service to disabled employers.
Pat has managed the office in a print business for a number of years and, with her husband, has been involved with the building and sale of computers since the early days of home and business computing.
She has served on various committees in a voluntary capacity - usually as treasurer!
Pat is a qualified secondary school teacher and having taught for several years in one of Essex’s “socially deprived area” schools, admits that the scholastic regime was not her metier!

Mathew Carson - Accounts Assistant

Joined the team in May 2019 with the ambition of beginning his training to become an accountant - a far cry away from his original plan of becoming a physicist.

Mathew is currently studying Accountancy at Dundee University and he intends to go on to further training to gain his Chartered status.

Outside professional life, Mathew has become a keen Ice Hockey fan and player over the past couple of years, having signed with his first recreational team at the end of 2019.
